Recently installed interior Tropical Plant Displays include an installation to the Reception and offices of a Stoke on Trent Call Centre. The plants were chosen to improve the working environment of the Call Centre staff utilising the many health benefits of having plants in the workplace. Clipped topiary trees were positioned outside the front entrance, we also located displays inside the Reception and throughout the offices/ Meeting rooms. At the top of the stairs leading up to the Executive area we positioned a striking Beaucarnea Recurvata, which has a  lovely aged knarled trunk. The Boardroom had some unusual plants including a Euphorbia Ingens, more commonly known as a Cowboy Cactus.

The offices of a local Cannock based engineering firm have circular desk hubs, with four desks forming a circle around a central plant display. This desk design allowed the staff to easily communicate with one another and they all had a good view of the plants! The Lichfield offices of a Parcel company had plants in their Reception, meeting rooms and first floor offices.

It’s not only the Staffordshire Business owners that recognise the benefits of having green planted working environments. Staffordshire University also acknowledges the importance of green spaces to our health and well-being and is conducting a survey to find out more. The Universities Dr Gidlow said: “There is a lot of evidence that living close to and having contact with nature, whether in green space or near water, is beneficial to people’s health and well-being but it is not understood exactly why this is the case.
