Barristers have plant displays for Birmingham & London offices

22nd January 2014

Our Plant Designer Ian visited the clients offices to discuss ideas, possible locations and the suitability of live planting. The client wanted the colour of the plant containers to reflect their companies corporate colour. We can have our plant containers made to any colour you can think of and a match was selected from our extensive BS & RAL colour charts.

For outside the main office entrance Cube containers were chosen planted with clipped topiary Buxus Sempervirens Pyramid trees.

Just inside the main entrance outside the lifts, a tall tapered square Stack display was planted with a white flowering 'Spathiphyllum Sensation'. The clipped topiary theme used outside was carried on inside where a group of three artificial Buxus balls were planted into orb shaped planters under the stairs.

In the first floor Reception two tapered square Stack displays of different heights were planted with flowering plants. The smaller display had white flowering Phalaenopsis Orchids and the larger display had a white flowering 'Spathiphyllum Sensation' living tropical plant. A considerable cost saving can be made by having flowering plants in Receptions, as they make an attractive cost effective alternative to fresh flower arrangements.   For more information see our blog 'Cut the Fresh Flowers Bill and save your company over a £1000 a year.'

The plants for the London offices had to be sympathetic to the historic surroundings. Gower Street was built in the 1790's and the buildings are in the classic Regency style with identical cast iron railings along most of the street. Special containers with custom made steel brackets were used to secure the containers to the railings and they are planted with Buxus topiary balls. Two contrasting displays were positioned outside the main entrance planted with Buxus balls on stems, (often referred to as Buxus Lollipops) and planted into low Black square containers with decorative white pebbles as the soil top dressing.
