Bromeliad Nursery in Holland

On a recent trip to Holland Office Landscapes visited some of the Nurseries that supply the plants we use in offices. One of the highlights of the trip was the colourful flowering Bromeliad Growers.

Plant Perfection

The huge greenhouses are bathed in natural light and the carefully controlled conditions allow the plants to reach perfection just before they are sent to customers. The temperature and humidity levels are carefully controlled and the amount of natural  light is adjusted using roof mounted sun blinds.

                           

                           

 Bright Modern Colours

The latest colour trends can be seen in the different coloured pots that the plants are potted into. Bold oranges and yellows, lime green and reds, similar colours to the Barrier plant Displays that we supplied on a recent installation here

Bromeliads are a favoured plant for ornamental purposes because they are easy to grow and care for and produce beautiful, long lasting blooms.

Brazil is home to the most species of bromeliads.

Pineapples are the only bromeliad fruits that are sold commercially throughout the world.

Once harvested, pineapples do not continue to ripen.
