How can we improve our refurbished office atrium?

28th March 2014

How can we improve our refurbished office atrium?  Was the question being asked by a Coventry based international engineering company.

After the refurbishment of their Reception and offices the management decided that the space was too minimalistic and needed to be made more welcoming to visitors and staff. Office Landscapes was called upon to provide an interior landscaping scheme to improve the look and feel of the area. Two locations were identified in the main office atrium as being good places to site plant displays, one area at the bottom of the stairs and another at the far end of the atrium. A group of three large plants and trees of varying sizes were planted into black circular containers which were fitted with hidden wheels so the displays could be easily moved around.

The largest grouping of displays was planted with a variety of different plant species and colours, all chosen to create a really vibrant and visually striking feature. The largest display was planted with a 3.5m Ficus Fibrosa, next was a 2.5m dark green Rhapis Excelsa and the third display was planted with a Ficus Golden Monique. All the display were planted with low base planting including a flowering Anthurium to add a splash of red.
