Two companies in the centre of Derby (DE1) recently had interior plants installed by Office Landscapes.
Using Plants to create barriers and screening
A long established civil engineering company wanted to create some natural barriers within their new offices. The main wall of the boardroom is a wooden framed window which faces into the main open plan offices. The client wanted to create some partial screening outside the Boardroom, whilst still retaining the flowing open plan design of the offices. We specified two lines of tall square Cubico pots planted with identical Kentia Palm living tropical plants
The staff breakout area also needed some screening from the open plan offices. In keeping with modern office interior we specified tall curvy 'Bridget' barrier troughs planted with lush green Cordyline Glauca living tropical plants.
Curvy, fun and funky
Our Curvy container range has lots of different, fun funky shapes with names to match. Such as Marilyn, Ursula, Bridget, Sophia. Have a look at the full range in our brochure on the Live Plants page.
Elsewhere small desk top displays were used on the Reception counter and inside the Ladies & Gents WC's.
Effective Design Technique
Also in the centre of Derby an Internet Service Provider added the finishing touches to their new offices & chose identical plant displays throughout. An effective design technique is having identical displays in the same area. This creates a strong visual impact and also gives a simple uncluttered feel to the surroundings.
The offices were well lit with artificial lighting but when the offices are closed there was limited natural light for the plants to photosynthesise. With this in mind we used a low light tolerant plant variety ' Dracaena Gold Coast Carousel and planted them into tall circular containers.
